Jersey
Jersey is an idyllic island situated in the English Channel, not far from the French coast. It is a small island, measuring only 9 miles by 5 miles. Now aligned with Britain, Jersey was once part of mainland France. The island's rich and varied history dates back to the last Ice Age; the Channel Islands were formed around 8000BC. There remain many interesting historical and geographically important sites to discover, making the Island perfect for exploration on foot or by bike. The coastline is a breathtaking mixture of rugged cliffs and long sandy beaches, pounded year round by rolling surf. Seeing more sun on average than anywhere else in England, Jersey's climate can be either mild and welcoming or wild and atmospheric. The sea is never far away and Jersey's beaches are stunning and uncrowded even during the summer months. Perfect for cliff path walks and long strolls along the beach followed by a drink and dinner in one of Jersey's many fine restaurants. Jersey has a huge variety of cuisine, with both French and Portuguese influences. A hidden gem that remains unknown to many, for those who visit Jersey the experience is unforgettable.
