Who will come to pick me up on arrival?

You will be met by us at the airport or ferry terminal and brought to our apartment. We live only 2 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and 15 minutes drive from the airport.

When should I provide my arrival details? As soon as your journey is booked and confirmed you should inform us of the date and time of arrival.

Do I have to arrive in Jersey on a Sunday and depart on a Saturday? Our weeks run from Sunday to Saturday to allow us time to prepare for the next students. Outside of the busiest periods it may be possible to arrive and depart on a different day and we remain as flexible as possible in this respect. Please do ask.

What do I need to bring with me? All lesson materials are provided, including text books, grammar reference books and dictionaries. You should bring a pen and A4note book for your studies. ?For the activity programs all specialist equipment is provided but you should bring swimwear and a pair of trainers or similar footwear. A waterproof jacket is advisable because although Jersey has a lovely climate it does still rain at times!

Do I have to choose my activities before my arrival in Jersey? Activities may have to be changed or rearranged according to the weather but we ask you to specify a preference before your arrival. We remain flexible and due to weather restrictions activities may need to be changed on arrival.

What happens on the Sunday of arrival? This depends on your arrival time but you are welcome to join us for the whole day or part of the day and evening meal - or you may wish to just relax and rest to be ready for lessons starting on Monday.

What is arranged for the evenings and weekends? Dinner with the family 4 nights a week gives you 2 free evenings to relax and explore for yourself and maybe eat in one of Jersey's restaurants. At the weekend you are free to either join us during the day, or make your own arrangements for sightseeing.

If I send my children to Jersey how much supervision will they receive outside of lesson and activity time? This is worked out on an individual basis. We communicate with families and provide the necessary level of supervision. If desired, your child may spend the whole week under our supervision taking part in all of our family activities.

How can people contact me during my stay in Jersey and if I send my children how can I contact them? Our home telephone can be used for incoming calls on: 01534 610153. We also have facilities to enable free Skype communication with a webcam.

What is the minimum and maximum duration of a stay? The minimum duration is one week. There is no maximum stay. On average, students stay two - four weeks.

If I stay for more than one week do I have to pay for an extra nights accommodation? No. 7 days accommodation are provided for the same price.

Are special meals possible? Our meals are tasty and nutritious and we aim to cater for any special dietary needs.

Where is your apartment located? Our apartment is located only 5 minutes walk from Jersey's main town St Helier. We overlook one of Jersey's marinas in a quiet and safe residential area close to the beaches, swimming pool, cinemas and theatre.

What safety provisions are in place for Jersey Language Adventure students? David and Natalie have both been CRB checked. David has been working with both children and adults for the past 12 years, holds NGB qualifications for all of the relevant Adventure Activities as well as being a trained first aider. All of the activities are fully insured although we request that you also take out your own travel insurance.

 

Terms and Conditions 2009

Payments: A non-refundable deposit comprising 50% of the course fee is required to confirm your booking. The balance of payment of the course fee is required 6 weeks before the start of your course.

Cancellation: In the event of cancellation within six weeks of the start of your course, we reserve the right to retain 80% of the course fee unless we are able to re-let the dates to another client.

Postponed courses that have been paid for will be credited, but please note that an additional administration charge of £l50 will be made. A course which is postponed within two weeks of the arrival date is treated as a cancellation.

Non-arrival: If a client does not arrive for their course (without having previously notified us) the fees cannot be refunded.

Curtailments/alterations to courses whilst on site: Clients cutting short their stay are not entitled to a refund except in extreme circumstances.
