David - Language Teacher and Adventure Instructor

Originally from the north of England, I have lived in Jersey for the past three years. I am a qualified English Language teacher with many years teaching experience, both in and out of the classroom. I am a graduate of Durham University and speak fluent French, Spanish and Portuguese.

I have always loved learning new languages myself, and believe that the best results come from making language classes both fun and inspiring. Learning a new language should be a satisfying and exciting experience, making interaction with people from different cultures and backgrounds possible and leading to new friends and adventures.

I also love the outdoors, and am a qualified climbing and kayaking instructor with more than twelve years climbing and mountaineering experience worldwide.

In Jersey we are very lucky to have such a huge variety of adventure sports on our doorstep. For students, the combination of language learning and adventure is perfect, encouraging progression in two very different sets of life skills. Lessons in the morning are the ideal complement to an afternoon of activity in and around Jersey's rugged coastline. Jersey is small but it is a very wild place and most people never see the best bits!

We live in a beautiful harbour apartment in the heart of Jersey close to both town and the beach. Our home is a relaxed and safe environment where people are made to feel welcome. With a friendly atmosphere that encourages conversation this is an ideal environment for learning a new language.

Natalie

Vibrant and creative, Natalie loves everything about life. Born in Jersey, she worked for many years as a snowboard photographer for Europe's leading winter sport magazines. Fred

Fred is our young son, born in 2008. A very happy boy, he loves people and likes smiling, dancing, sleeping and eating!
