Getting ready for a week at Jersey Language Adventure (JLA) is exciting—but it’s also important to pack the right items to make sure your child is comfortable, prepared, and ready for every adventure!
From English lessons to outdoor activities like coasteering, our programme is active and varied. To help you get organised, here is our complete packing guide for a successful week at JLA.
Jersey is not Timbuktu. If you forget something don’t worry, we’ll lend you the thing you forgot or find another one, but we’ve highlighted the things you absolutely shouldn’t leave behind!

Our ‘English and Adventure’ programme is pretty intense so once a week our students have a few free hours to take a breather and explore Jersey on their own. Normally this free time falls on a Wednesday afternoon, a nice mid point during the stay so that students can recharge their batteries, have some fun … Independent Exploration ( aka Free afternoon ;-))

A Great Week at Camp!
This week’s morning English sessions were filled with creativity—students wrote mini stories, worked in teams, and practised speaking through fun, practical activities. Lots of new vocabulary and sentence building.
As usual the afternoons were focused on adventure! Leaning the ropes at one of our magical climbing spots and catching the best surf conditions of the week. Beach barbecues and volleyball and of course Friday Fish and Chips!
In 2025, our English and Adventure School brought together students from around the world to experience a unique combination of English language learning and outdoor adventure activities. Travel between France and the Channel Islands has just become easier with the new direct air route connecting Paris and Jersey. This route, linking Jersey Airport with Paris Charles de Gaulle, provides an alternative way for our students to travel between the island and the French capital.
Our students took to the waves and discovered why surfing is one of the best ways to experience island life. From first rides to big wipeouts (and lots of laughs), it was an unforgettable day in the water.
